Hike Description

After a scenic 40-minute drive from Stavanger — including a journey beneath the fjord — we arrive at the trailhead, 350 meters above sea level in the heart of the Ryfylke Mountains. Even before we begin our guided hike to Reinaknuten, we’re rewarded with breathtaking views, perfect for capturing photos of your private hiking adventure in Norway.

Before hitting the trail, we do a short gear check and provide a safety briefing. You’ll get essential hiking tips, trail insights, and an overview of the day’s conditions — all part of the personalized experience with Stavanger Adventure. Once everything is set, we begin the journey into this hidden gem of Norwegian nature.

Led by your private guide, you’ll hike through a magical pine and birch forest on your way to Reinaknuten. As the trail climbs, the landscape transforms into scenic heathland dotted with birch trees, revealing the true beauty of the Norwegian mountains.

The route passes Skjørbu Mountain — an optional bonus peak for those with extra energy — and continues past peaceful mountain lakes. If you're lucky, you might even meet some of the local sheep, adding a truly authentic touch to your Norwegian wilderness hiking experience. This is more than just a hike — it’s a personal and unforgettable guided adventure in Ryfylke.

At key vantage points along the trail, you'll pause to take in panoramic views of the Ryfylke mountains, capturing stunning shots of your private hiking tour in Norway. As the trail steepens, your efforts are rewarded with the ascent to Krossen Peak (718 meters) — a perfect photo stop offering awe-inspiring scenery across the region.

But the adventure doesn’t end there. We continue to the highest point of the day, Reinaknuten (787 meters above sea level), where we take a well-deserved break to enjoy a snack, something warm to drink, and truly soak in the Norwegian wilderness.

For the return hike, your guide will assess time and trail conditions to offer the best option: either back along the same scenic route or a picturesque detour along Long Mountain Lake, making this a versatile and unforgettable guided hike near Stavanger.
