Hike Description

After an approximately 60-minute drive from the pick-up point, we arrive at the trailhead. Here, we conduct an equipment check and a brief safety briefing, covering trail details, expected conditions, and essential hiking tips before setting off on today’s adventure.

The hike begins on a gentle gravel road alongside a scenic lake, passing a few scattered cabins in a peaceful and idyllic setting. After about 1.8 km, the road ends, and we transition onto a trail that winds through beautiful natural surroundings and serene lakes.

The terrain can be damp at times but remains just as charming. We move through an open landscape toward a crossroads, turning north toward the fjord. Short breaks to capture the stunning scenery are almost inevitable in this magical setting!

A gentle ascent, a brief descent, and then one final climb—before we’re nearly there!
At last, Lauvnesknuten awaits, its summit marked by a well-built cairn. The view is spectacular—Høgsfjorden stretches northwest, while Frafjorden winds eastward between towering mountains. We pause to enjoy a warm meal, take in the breathtaking scenery, and celebrate reaching the top.

After a well-deserved break, we retrace our steps, though if time and energy allow, we can explore detours for fresh perspectives and unforgettable memories.
This hike shares its starting point with our Ramnstoknuten trek, located slightly west on the plateau. For those eager and up for the challenge, there's an option to summit both peaks in one adventure
