Hike Description
A 40-minute drive from the pick-up point, passing 292m beneath the fjord from Stavanger, brings us to the trailhead. Here, we conduct an equipment check and a short safety briefing before setting off on today’s adventure.
The hike begins on a cart track, leading through cultural landscapes before transitioning to a more challenging trail toward Paradisskaret. Expect some steep sections along the way. The most demanding part of the route is a 140-meter ascent at Paradisskaret, where we take it slow to enjoy the unfolding views.

As we climb, Vedafjellet appears to the south, while Dybingen and Lutsivatnet stretch out below. Reaching the mountain ridge, a breathtaking panorama unfolds. If time allows, we can take a short detour to summit Mattirudla (Lutsifjellet) at 346 meters, where another stunning viewpoint offers the perfect spot for a break and refreshments.
The journey continues through scenic terrain over Kuheia toward Bjørndalsfjellet. We take the final ascent at a relaxed pace, knowing the reward at the top will be worth it.

Reaching the summit cairn at 362 meters, we are greeted by a breathtaking 360-degree panorama. From here, we see Dalsnuten from behind, the vast landscapes of Jæren, Stavanger, and the fjords stretching towards Tau and Ryfylke. The entire Lutsivassdraget also unfolds before us.
We take a well-earned break to soak in the views, capture memories, and enjoy some refreshments. The descent follows a varied and slightly challenging trail along the mountain ridge, typically taking about an hour.
